Located in a quiet street not far from the Palace, this is almost a boutique hotel. It is small and very well maintained. Rooms are comfortable, but not too spacious. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, as well as several free public computers.
Breakfast is good and it is served by the swimming pool.

Spent 4 nights at this immaculate hotel. First night in side room, which was too dark for us. Moved to smaller, but wonderfully bright, garden facing room with small balcony. Beautifully furnished. Breakfasts good, not a huge selection, but more than adequate for us. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. FREE INTERNET!!! Very helpful "business centre" staff. Great attention to detail. Even the surrounding roads were watered to minimise dust and swept regularly by a very hard-working member of staff. Gardens were immaculate and at night, they and the hotel were lit up. Close to palace, but 30+minute walk to downtown.

This was the second time for me at the Hotel by the Red Canal, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to any traveller.
My recent stay was with a group of 22 senior friends and acquaintances on a cycling tour in Burma. We all appreciated the ambience, pool, gardens, comfortable rooms, extremely helpful and courteous staff, and happy hour where we particularly enjoyed the entertainment by the barman Toe Toe (Tom Cruise).Congratulations to GM Ashwin Kumar on a well run hotel.
